Disney Jr. kids festival returns to Disneyland

“The Disney Jr. Let’s Play festival returns on Friday, Aug. 8 through Sunday, Aug. 10 with parades, shows, food and music at Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney.
“Disneyland launched the inaugural Disney Junior kids festival geared toward 2 to 7 year olds in 2022.
“Highlights of this year’s event include the Let’s Play Block Party parade, “Let’s Play Live” show and Confection Purrfection cupcake decorating party on Friday, Aug. 8.”

Disneyland maps from early 1950s show plans that never happened
The pre-opening maps show a visual progression of the Anaheim theme park from concept to reality.

“Early conceptual maps of Disneyland drawn by Disney Legends Harper Goff in 1951 and Marvin Davis in 1953 reveal a host of early ideas that were never realized at the Anaheim theme park.
“A dozen of the early maps created before Disneyland’s grand opening in 1955 on display in the Main Street Opera House lobby show a visual evolution of the park as it progressed from concept to reality.
“The Opera House lobby serves as a pre-show for the new “Walt Disney — A Magical Life” animatronic show that debuted on July 17 — the 70th anniversary of Disneyland’s grand opening.”

“A federal court case in Oklahoma offers stunning allegations that promise to fuel industry cocktail party chatter for a generation. The case involves the American Heartland theme park — a development that was announced a couple of years ago for a site in rural Oklahoma.
“A group out of Branson, Mo., Mansion Entertainment Group, in 2023 announced what it called a $2 billion project, featuring attractions designed by some of the top contractors in the theme park industry. If that name sounds familiar, Mansion Entertainment Group presented the Grand Finale float in Pasadena’s Tournament of Roses Parade for the past three years.
“The park was supposed to open next year. But today, all that stands on the site are faded signs and a fence. So what happened?”

Lucky Strike Entertainment acquires the Riverside amusement park and San Dimas water park from Dollywood's parent company.

“Lucky Strike Entertainment has acquired Castle Park, Raging Waters, a pair of Boomers in Palm Springs and Vista and a North Carolina water park from Herschend, the parent company of the Dollywood and Silver Dollar City theme parks.
“Herschend announced the acquisition of the five properties in March with the purchase of Palace Entertainment’s U.S. properties from Parques Reunidos.
“The biggest additions to the Herschend portfolio from the Palace deal included three historic parks: Kennywood and Idlewild (both in the Pittsburgh area) along with Connecticut’s Lake Compounce (billed as America’s First Amusement Park).”

CHOC Walk fundraiser taps Disney magic to raise millions of dollars

“The 2025 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by the resort offered participants early access to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. As they walked the parks they were raising money for the Children’s Hospital of Orange County and its health care, research and education programs.”
