Disneyland removes stunt performers from Spider-Man stuntronic show

“The stunt performers in “The Amazing Spider-Man” show received notice that their final performances would be on Sunday, Nov. 17 in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure, according to the American Guild of Variety Artists.

“The high-intensity stunt performers performed wall-climbing stunts suspended from wires and rooftop parkour jumps atop the Web Slingers attraction building in the former version of the show.

The rooftop stunts have been replaced by a Spidey meet-and-greet character who banters a bit with the crowd below before disappearing from view to make way for the stuntronic performance,”

30+ live bands and performers play Disney Festival of the Holidays

“More than 30 rock n’ roll, rhythm & blues, soul, jazz, reggae, Latin pop, fusion and polka bands, along with a series of dance troupes, will perform during the winter holiday season at the Disneyland resort.

“A lineup of 31 live bands and cultural performers will play Friday, Nov. 15 through Jan. 6 during the Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure.

“A rotating cast of performers will play daily on four stages in Paradise Gardens, Hollywood Land and Sonoma Terrace during the seven-week festival.”

Candlelight Processional returns to Disneyland for the holidays
The annual Christmas ceremony with a 600-member choir will be held on Dec. 7 and 8.

“The annual Candlelight Ceremony with a 600-member choir that fills Disneyland with seasonal songs and draws thousands of holiday fans anxious to get into the Christmas spirit will return to the Anaheim theme park during the first full weekend in December.

“Invited guests will be able to enjoy the Candlelight Processional at Disneyland on Dec. 7 and 8 at 5:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. each evening, according to Disneyland officials.”

Disney nighttime spectaculars to get more aerial drone shows

“Walt Disney Imagineering Vice President for Parades and Spectaculars Steven Davison spoke about Imagineering’s pioneering work creating drone light shows during a D23 panel at the Anaheim Convention Center.”

“Downtown Disney will open a bunch of new retailers and restaurants just in time for the Christmas shopping season as the Anaheim outdoor mall begins wrapping up another round of construction while work continues on other projects.

“The Avengers Reserve and D-Lander Shop will open on Dec. 6 in the west end of Downtown Disney.”

Legendary Disney Parks Composer George Wilkins Passes Away at Age 90
The acclaimed composer provided scores and arrangements for a number of early EPCOT projects, such as Kitchen Kabaret, Listen to the Land and Horizons.

“But EPCOT wasn’t the only Disney Park touched by Wilkins’ musical prowess, as he arranged a number of attractions heading into the 90s and 2000s – such as The Great Movie Ride, the 1993 version of Carousel of Progress, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin and Pooh’s Hunny Hunt. A personal highlight is music introduced in 1984 for Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom, which still plays today as you enter the queue. Among Wilkins’ final compositions for Disney were California Screamin’, the full Sonny Eclipse show, It’s Tough To Be a Bug and the infamous Superstar Limo.”
