Disneyland pauses sales of Magic Key passes
By JEFFREY MILLER
PUBLISHED: May 31, 2022

"Disneyland has discontinued sales of its last available tiers of its Magic Key passes for the time being, meaning that the park currently offers no annual passes for sale.

"The Enchant Key, which sold for $649, and the $399 Imagine Key are no longer available for purchase as of Tuesday, May 31, according to Disneyland officials. The Magic Key program was originally rolled out last August with four price tiers; the $1,399 Dream Key sold out in late October and the $949 Believe Key did likewise in late November.

"People who currently hold Magic Key passes will be able to renew their pass at some level, though details on renewals will be announced at a later date, Disney officials said. Magic Key holders can continue to use their passes to make park reservations, subject to blockout dates for their pass, and to receive discounts on food and merchandise, among other benefits."

New Star Wars Characters Coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park – Just Announced at Star Wars Celebration
by Scott Trowbridge, Portfolio Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering

"Since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened in 2019, Star Wars storytelling has experienced a galactic expansion to include many new characters and stories across a wide range of settings. Now, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is likewise expanding the stories guests can encounter when visiting. Having been designed from the outset to connect with a broad range of Star Wars storytelling, Black Spire Outpost has played a role in many of these stories stretching over thousands of years and while, up to now, we have mostly shared those story connections through media and publishing, we will soon give visitors to Batuu an opportunity to connect with those fan-favorite stories with the immersive detail and authenticity that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was designed to deliver."

Spider-Man stuntronic crashes at Disneyland — but he’s already back in action
The Spider-Man stuntronic smashed into a silo atop the Web Slingers attraction building at Disney California Adventure on Thursday, June 9.
By BRADY MACDONALD
PUBLISHED: June 9, 2022

"The Spider-Man stuntronic smashed into a silo atop the Web Slingers attraction building during a rooftop stunt show in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure on Thursday, June 9, according to video posted to social media.

"The stuntronic failed to release from a cable the Spidey robot swings from and slammed into the side of the silo where the audio-animatronic typically lands during a mid-day performance of the rooftop stunt show on Thursday. The dramatic crash caused the louvered paneling on the side of the rooftop silo to collapse.

Fortunately, occasional crashes were built into the DNA of the Spider-Man stuntronic and the rooftop silo. That’s one of the key reasons Spidey soars over a building rather than a crowd — in case he doesn’t stick the landing.

"Walt Disney Imagineering even built a “crash mode” into the audio soundtrack that accompanies the Spider-Man stunt show at the Disneyland resort.

“'The W.E.B. facility is not equipped with airbags,' the audio track announced after the embarrassing crash."

...
"Exhibit highlights included historic photos and artifacts from the Dixieland at Disneyland era of the Anaheim theme park from the 1960s. Replica flyers and tickets illustrated the 'Swingin’est, Synchopatin’est' evenings that were early editions of the Disneyland After Dark after-hours events that now fill the park today."
