                                                                         ***Disney Resort Updates***

 

​Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 (Corona) Virus, ALL Disney Parks, Cruise Lines, and Disney Vacation Club Resorts will be closed until further notice:

 ​

​Disney is over whelmed with people attempting to rebook / cancel so please be patient with them. They are modifying their cancelation policy to accommodate guests. Many booking services can be handled online (links above). They are reportedly going to extend AP's by one month.

 

Please be sure to follow CDC and your State's guidelines during this crisis. We will get through this.


Shanghai Disneyland   • Shanghai Disneyland is now open but requires reservations. Due to new guidelines, they will be increasing daily capacity on August 24th. Please visit their site for details.


Walt Disney World    • All 4 Walt Disney World theme parks are open.
                                 • Additionally, Disney Vacation Club properties at Walt Disney World and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground have begun to reopen to Members and Guests. Disney Springs has already begun to reopen. Upon reopening, theme parks, Disney Resort Hotels, restaurants and other offerings may be modified, limited in capacity and subject to availability or closure. 


Disneyland       • The Downtown Disney District is open.
                         • The Hotels of the Disneyland Resort remain closed and will reopen at a later date.
                         • Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park remain closed and will reopen at a later date, pending state and local government approvals..


Hong Kong Disneyland    • As required by the government and health authorities in line with prevention efforts taking place across Hong Kong, Hong Kong Disneyland Park is temporarily closed until further notice.
                                         • The resort hotels remain open with adjusted level of services. Enhanced health and safety measures that reflect the guidance of health and government authorities have been put in place, such as social distancing measures and increased cleaning and sanitization.


Disneyland Paris    • The Disneyland Paris phased reopening introduces enhanced health and safety measures implemented for both Cast Members and guests. As the capacity of our Parks is significantly limited to comply with governmental requirements, Disneyland Paris is managing attendance through a new online registration system, subject to availability.


Disney Cruise Lines   • Disney Cruise line suspends cruises through October 31, 2020.

The Quinjet Has Landed at Avengers Campus at the Disneyland Resort

"Josh D’Amaro took to Instagram to share photos of a historic moment in the construction of Avengers Campus, a new Marvel-themed land coming to Disney California Adventure park.

"He shows the Quinjet, a fabled S.H.I.E.L.D. ship, touching down on the roof of one of the land’s buildings.

"Joining D’Amaro in the photos is Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock, and several Imagineers."

Disneyland auditions Marvel superhero stunt performers for Avengers Campus
The new audition listings suggest Disneyland is preparing to reopen after a five-month coronavirus closure and Avengers Campus could debut with the return of Disney California Adventure.

"A pair of new Avengers Campus shows featuring Captain America and Black Panther fighting a sword-wielding villain and General Okoye training young warriors are coming to the new Marvel themed land after Disney California Adventure reopens.

"The Anaheim theme park is looking for professional stunt talent and union actors to perform in Marvel superhero live action shows, according to the Disney Audition website." ...

"The new Disney casting call seeks stunt performers with athletic builds who are skilled in theatrical hand-to-hand combat, sword-and-shield combat, martial arts staff handling, acrobatics, tumbling and wall climbing to portray the Marvel super heroes.

"The Disney Audition website listed specific height ranges for each of the Marvel super heroes: Captain America (5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet, 3 inches), Black Panther (5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet, 2 inches) and General Okoye (5 feet 4 inches to 6 feet)."

"Avengers Campus will host four superhero shows when the new Marvel themed land opens. The Avengers rooftop stunt show and Dora Milaje training session will be joined by a Spider-Man aerial acrobatics show and Doctor Strange mystic arts special effects show.

"The Disney Auditions website is accepting online submissions for the Marvel performer roles through Sept. 6."

Disneyland removes ‘Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah’ from playlist as part of Splash Mountain makeover
Disneyland has removed the song from the Downtown Disney background music loop and stripped any reference to the 'Song of the South' from the Splash Mountain website.

"Executives from Disney, Universal and SeaWorld said California theme parks were 'ready to roll' during a theme park roundtable in Orlando on Wednesday, Aug. 26 led by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

"The Disney, Universal and SeaWorld officials used the Florida roundtable as an opportunity to gently but firmly remind California Gov. Gavin Newsom that their theme parks in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties are 'ready to go' after more than five months of coronavirus closures."

“'Disneyland has been ready to roll since July,' Disney World’s chief operating officer Jim MacPhee said at the roundtable.

"Disneyland is awaiting guidance and reopening protocols from Newsom and California state officials, MacPhee said."

Josh D’Amaro Says Disneyland Parks Are Ready to Open When State Allows

"On Sunday, Orange County, CA was removed from the State’s watchlist for extensive monitoring due to an increase in Coronavirus cases.

"According to the City of Anaheim’s website, there are no immediate changes for its business reopening plan. Anaheim is in Stage 3 of reopening, and that stage excludes theme parks, not just Disneyland.  Theme parks can open in Stage 4, which the city only states will be read for in the  'coming months.'"

The shopping, dining, and entertainment district is still bustling even without the parks operating, and our own Mike C. took a stroll through the area to check everything out."
