Disneyland announces details for Marvel E-Ticket ride at D23

“A new Marvel E-Ticket ride slated for Avengers Campus will be called Avengers: Infinity Defense, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced Saturday at Honda Center in Anaheim at a presentation during the D23 fan event.
“A second new ride, called Stark Flight Lab, will also be added to Avengers Campus, D’Amaro announced Saturday. Construction on both rides will begin soon, he said.”

“Disneyland is ready to move forward with plans for an Avatar themed land teased for the Anaheim theme park resort based on the $5 billion action adventure fantasy science fiction movie franchise.
“Fans of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ that grossed $2.3 billion at the box office may soon be able to board a boat and explore the Pandoran oceans seen in the blockbuster film if Disneyland moves forward with plans for an Avatar themed land teased for the Anaheim theme park resort.”

“Disneyland developed a nighttime spectacular in 1987 that featured ghosts, skeletons and black widow brides escaping from the Haunted Mansion to entertain crowds along the Rivers of America five years before “Fantasmic” became a surprise sensation.
“Disneyland consultant Don Dorsey discussed the history of the shelved Haunted Mansion-themed nighttime spectacular during the Magic After Dark panel at the D23 fan event at the Anaheim Convention Center.”

“The next challenge was to come up with a show concept that matched the thematic surroundings of New Orleans Square. Their big idea: What would happen if the 999 ghosts from the Haunted Mansion took over Tom Sawyer Island?
“Concept art developed for the Haunted Mansion-themed nighttime spectacular shows ghosts pouring out of the classic dark ride and flowing over the Rivers of America onto Tom Sawyer Island in a spectral rainbow.”
