By BRADY MACDONALD
PUBLISHED: December 8, 2022

“The Indiana Jones Adventure attraction will be closed from Jan. 9 until spring 2023 for refurbishment and maintenance, according to the Disneyland website.”

“The ‘spring 2023’ return window means Indiana Jones Adventure could be closed for 10 weeks to six months. Seasonal refurbishments tend to bring Disneyland rides down for a few weeks while major upgrades can take months.

“Disneyland’s upcoming refurbishment of Indiana Jones Adventure is expected to introduce elements or scenes from the upcoming new “Indiana Jones” film starring Harrison Ford, according to WDW News Today. ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ is coming to theaters in summer 2023.

“The timing of the Disneyland ride closure pairs closely with the arrival of the new Indy film. Spring 2023 ends on June 21 while “Dial of Destiny” premieres on June 30. Disney often tries to tie ride refreshes with blockbuster debuts and vice versa.”

3 new Disneyland Genie+ features you’ll love — and 1 you probably won’t
Disneyland has rolled out updates to its mobile app — including one this week — that make it easier for visitors to change rides, return times and party size in their Genie+ itineraries.
By BRADY MACDONALD
PUBLISHED: December 9, 2022

“1) Disneyland visitors can modify their Genie+ selections in the app and choose from other available return time windows without canceling or rebooking their existing reservation.”

“2) You can also change attractions without canceling your original booking first — but you can only choose another ride in the same park.”

“3) Party sizes can be changed on Genie+ reservations by selecting the “cancel plan” button in the app.”

“4) Disneyland quietly moved to date-based pricing for Genie+ in October. That means Genie+ prices now change on a daily basis just like Disneyland ticket prices.

“Genie+ prices that were fixed at $20 per day when the service launched now start at $25 a day and vary by date. And “start” is the key word here.

“Genie+ has risen to $30 a day on a few select Saturdays since the change and throughout Thanksgiving week, according to Thrill Data. Expect a price spike during the upcoming Christmas holiday season — traditionally the busiest time of the year at the parks.”

Disneyland Update: Follow the Bouncing Bobs
By Dusty Sage -November 28, 2022

“Thanksgiving has come and gone, and has left us with something to be very thankful for this year… a much-needed change in leadership of the Disney Company.  Unfortunately, some fans are getting way ahead of themselves and making pronouncements for what is coming soon to the parks, even though no such meetings or decisions have been made. We’ll put things into context for you.

“For now, the Merriest Place on Earth is bustling with crowds for the holidays, so it may take a bit of work and planning to experience all that Christmas magic. Traditionally, the week of Thanksgiving has always been a busy period for the Disneyland Resort, but with reservations and a supposed attendance cap, it wasn’t as terrible as in years past. We’ll get to that, and so much more— including current park conditions, some staffing issues, construction, refurbishments and more!

“Oh… and LOTS of GORGEOUS photos for you to enjoy and share…”

By Andy Castro -December 7, 2022

“It was another busy week for Disney’s returning CEO Bob Iger.  Iger kicked off the week with a Town Hall meeting for all Disney employees, answering wide-ranging questions from staff from around the Walt Disney Company.  Throughout the week, Iger continued his early restructuring of the company, clearing the way for a creative-led future for the company and undoing some of the damage left by outgoing CEO Bob Chapek.  By week’s end, Iger was touring Disneyland and watching the park’s iconic annual Candlelight processional and ceremony.  Meanwhile, the holidays are in full swing at the Disneyland Resort, hotel projects continue, and some new critters join Princess Tiana as she prepares to move into Critter Country.

“Today is Walt Disney’s birthday. Do Disney’s current leaders live up to his standards? Do the parks offer the carefree magic, adventure, cleanliness, and sense of comfort he intended for them? Let’s keep that in mind as we visit the parks today…”
