In this episode we take a look at the year 1998 at Disneyland. It was a significant year for us at The Sweep Spot because our very own Lynn Barron started in Custodial at Disneyland. It was also a year of changes, and many in the near future. With the New Tomorrowland, and the start to what would eventually become the Disneyland Resort. Plus we have the latest in the Disneyland Current Events.

Disney, unions agree on contract to raise hourly wages to $15
"Disneyland Resort will raise the hourly pay of more than 8,600 workers to $15 in January as part of a new contract with unions representing ride operators, ticket takers, retail sales clerks, janitors and parking attendants among others.
...
The contract immediately boosts those workers’ minimum pay to $13.25 an hour from $11, followed by the jump to $15 next year. California’s legal wage floor for large companies is set to rise to $15 an hour in 2022."

World of Problems
"World of Color remains down and the return date looks like it will be after Halloween.
Speaking of Halloween, looks like they’ve been working in earnest on the Halloween version of the show. A recent dispute exposed the details. Bobcat Goldthwait posted a disgruntled comment on Instagram about Disney’s firing of his friend James Gunn. In the comment, he mentions the project he just recorded vocals for, “World of Color – Villainous.”
It’s highly likely that we won’t see the new show until next year as technical problems continue with the World of Color platform."

There’s now more Halloween than ever at the Disneyland Resort
"The fall season at the Disneyland Resort is a crowd favorite. The parks look fantastic in their autumn colors and Halloween themed decor and this year guests will enjoy more days that ever to celebrate the harvest holidays at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. The limited-time event called Halloween Time will bring enchanting fun and frightfully good times themed to the season from Sept. 7 through October 31, 2018."
