Disneyland as a Lifelong Dream with Bruce Kimbrell

We welcome Bruce Kimbrell, who knew he wanted to work at Disneyland as a young boy, and went on to work at Disneyland and the Disney Institute for a total of 40 years. He shares stories about working in Attractions, interacting with celebrities, creating “Walt Disney and You,” and how you can see his name at Disneyland City Hall. How Disneyland updated ‘Fantasmic’ and ‘World of Color’ special effects
Disney Live Entertainment show director and writer Wendy Ruth and producer Jennifer Magill discuss the refurbishment process for the nighttime spectaculars.
By BRADY MACDONALD
PUBLISHED: June 20, 2022

“Disney Live Entertainment show director and writer Wendy Ruth and producer Jennifer Magill spoke about the refurbishment process for the nighttime spectaculars that saw ‘Fantasmic’ at Disneyland and ‘World of Color’ at Disney California Adventure return just as visitors remembered them during a round table media panel about the Anaheim theme park’s returning entertainment lineup.”

“Disneyland crews traded out some ‘World of Color’ equipment that had reached the end of its life and parts were no longer available for repair.

“‘The new equipment we installed is similar to the original, but because technology is always improving, ‘World of Color’ looks even more brilliant than it did in 2020,’ Magill said. ‘The lights on the Incredicoaster are significantly brighter than before. Plus, our new 4K projectors are much brighter and crisper than the previous ones.’”

Holiday Nighttime Spectaculars are Back at Disneyland Resort
by Valerie Lee, Public Relations Manager, Disneyland Resort

“It’s all about the return of the nighttime spectaculars at Disneyland Resort. And continuing in the spirit of beloved nighttime entertainment, we are thrilled to confirm that two nighttime holiday favorites will be returning during the holiday season: ‘Believe… In Holiday Magic’ fireworks and ‘World of Color – Season of Light’!

“‘Believe… In Holiday Magic’ fireworks is a dazzling nighttime display that brings a medley of heartwarming holiday music and culminates with a magical snowfall in several areas of the Disneyland park including Main Street, U.S.A., near the Rivers of America and in front of ‘it’s a small world.’

“‘World of Color – Season of Light’ will return to Paradise Bay during the holiday season at Disney California Adventure park!  This spectacular winter fantasy blends classic holiday songs with memorable moments from treasured Disney and Pixar films that illuminate a wall of mist, as fountains dance in this mesmerizing spectacle with stories of friendship, family and love.”

Along the way we visit new characters, share some observations and tips, and take a look at lots and lots of gorgeous photos of one of the top tourist attractions in the world… Disneyland!”
